A Frosty Morning
On a recent frosty morning, I headed down the highway on my way to Bismarck, ND. Now, for those of you who are not from ND, Bismarck is the capital and lies 75 miles southeast of my town, Beulah. We had been having some foggy evenings and that makes for wonderful frosty mornings around here. As I set off, I had in mind to find a great place with perhaps a hay bale, some fenceline, etc. Well, I found just the place and here is the result of that morning!
I have always found snow photos quite hard to get the color right. Either the snow looks too blue or it is too bright. I shot in Camera RAW so I had the best opportunity to process and get just the right colors. My photos actually came out quite good SOOC (straight out of the camera) but had a tinge of blue. So I was able to adjust that with the temperature slider of the basic panel in ACR (Adobe Camera RAW). I also adjusted the blacks in all these photos as well as contrast to get a really good snow color. I hope you like the results. Please comment and let me know!
We have now been in Beulah for 18 years and this mountain girl (from Colorado originally) is really, finally liking the prairie!
